The Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Croatia, together with their associated partners, are supporting the second edition of the conference “Intangible Heritage as Development Potential”.
This year’s edition of the conference “Intangible heritage as a development potential” provides expert and high-quality content on topics that connect culture, tourism, entrepreneurship, craftsmanship, management, marketing and applications of new technologies.
The conference will be held on June 7, 2024, at the Park Exclusive Hotel, starting at 6 p.m. In the introductory part of the conference, a cooperation agreement will be signed between the Ivo Pilar Institute of Social Sciences and the Gack Open University Otočac.
The following topics will be discussed in two panels:
- “Preserving traditions from the past as a pledge for a sustainable future” (Ph.D. Mirela Hrovatin)
- “Reference Center for Intangible Culture” (Ph.D. Irena Miholić)
- “Culture, economy, and tourism: intangible heritage as an intersectoral link” (Katarina Bušić, prof. history and ethnology)
- “Heritage in which people are the main protagonists” (Meri Vesanović, mag. art. hist. et al.)
- “Presentation and communication in cultural branding” (Ph.D. Krešimir Dabo)
- “Application of XR in the interpretation of cultural heritage” (Ante Fumić, bacc. father)
- The conference ends with networking and the exchange of experiences through the gathering of speakers, representatives of patrons and partners, and conference participants in the gastro corner.
A special mention in this year’s edition of the conference is the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Croatia. Financial support is provided by the City of Otočac and the Tourist Board of Lika-Senj County, which are also partners of the conference and are joined by the Tourist Board of the City of Otočac, the Ivo Pilar Institute of Social Sciences, the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, Aspira University, Prilika GRP d.o.o., Muze d.o.o., Chair of the Čakavian Assembly of Gacka Province, Development Center of Lika-Senj County, and Lika Destination Cluster.
