The BFI London Film Festival in partnership with American Express has announced the opening of submissions for LFF Expanded 2023. The LFF Expanded is a strand of the festival that explores the possibilities of immersive media like virtual, augmented, and mixed reality, transforming the way we experience art and moving image. The final deadline for receipt of online submissions is Monday 15 May 2023, 17.00 (BST).
The festival is open to UK and international creators who provide a fresh perspective on our world today. LFF Expanded aims to include works that challenge audience perceptions and shine a light on urgent political, social and cultural themes. The festival is looking for bold and inventive work from creators that pushes the boundaries of immersive storytelling through emerging formats and technologies, such as Generative AI, NFTs, or human-body interfaces.
Since its launch in 2020, LFF Expanded has been showcasing the works of talented artists and creative teams from around the world who are working at the cutting edge of immersive storytelling, visual art and creative technology. For our fourth edition in 2023, we’re excited to once again present a selection of innovative new works from international creators with a special spotlight on UK talent. There are no submission fees.
