Meta Quest Pro, long heralded and initially introduced as Project Cambria, is scheduled to be unveiled on October 11 at Meta Connect 2022. I guess we’ll find out what he looks like physically.

Famous Youtube influencer Nathie shared alleged photos of the Quest Pro VR device in his Twitter post. As a source, he cites a post from the Oculus Quest 2 Facebook group that has already been removed in the meantime. According to the comments of the author of the publication, it is an alleged engineering specimen that is not intended for sale and was left, seemingly forgotten, in a hotel room.

In the picture, we can see a box of the new Meta Quest showing the new design of the hedset and controller. Also, on the right side of the box, the plastic protection with which the controllers normally come is visible.

According to current predictions, the controllers of the new Meta Quest will be somewhat heavier. There are no more recognizable “rings” as on quest a 2 controller but will have 3 infrared cameras built in to track movement. The new batteries will be rechargeable at a docking station and each of the controllers has one Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor. The new VR device looks slightly more compact and lighter, and it looks like there is no more elastic strap surrounding the head. It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 5G processor, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, Tianjin-3 QLED display panels and the alleged price is around $1500.

Mark Zuckerberg stated in Joe Rogan’s podcast that the next VR device could provide the ability to have some kind of eye movement tracking.

“It will allow you to follow your face so that your avatar is no longer just a quiet thing, but, if you smile or frown, or whatever your facial expression is, it will be displayed in real time on your avatar.”

People who have had the opportunity to try the conceptual device from the Cambria project praise it as comfortable to wear and with image quality and resolution identical to the Meta Quest 2 glasses. It remains to wait for October and zuckerberg’s official launch of the device, but we undoubtedly expect a lot of excitement and news in virtual reality.
